Winter 2026 - Savannah Elks Scholar Service Trip

The 2026 Winter Elks Scholar Service Trip took place January 6-10 in Savannah, Georgia. Nineteen Elks scholars from around the nation came together to serve in the name of the Elks. They organized clothing donations for clients experiencing homelessness at Emmaus House, unloaded truckloads of items at Neighbors Feeding Neighbors, and inventoried essential items with Grow Initiative GA. At Second Harvest, scholars unboxed Amazon returns and categorized them, so they were ready to be donated back into the community to fight hunger. And on the last action-packed day, the group toured a tiny home community with Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless and learned about policy solutions to address homelessness while assembling cold weather kits.

A service trip isn't complete without a visit to a Lodge! The Savannah, Ga., Lodge No. 183 hosted a fun night of games to cap an unforgettable week.

One scholar shared, "Being able to work alongside other scholars while interacting with the local community and its organizations helped me better understand the challenges people face throughout their daily lives, and how even small efforts such as ours can make a real difference in their lives."
