Become a “Force Multiplier” in Our Community

“Force Multiplier” is a military and business term for using processes and technology that enable one person to achieve results that normally require many people. In the Chester County area our Lodge produces the positive impact of organizations many times our size. We achieve this through or participation in the Elks National Foundation (aka ENF). Here is how it works for Elks #853:

Outside of the Elks, many of us make charitable contributions that have matching grants – for every $ that we contribute another group or person will contribute another dollar to the cause. Effectively our $1 becomes $2. It’s a great investment.

The ENF leverages our contributions much further than traditional matching. If we meet our Lodge goals (about $6 per member) we become eligible for grants much greater than our contributions – currently it’s about 5X what we contribute, so that an individuals $10 contribution returns $50 to our Lodge for charity investments in our community.

In just the past year we have provided the following investments into Chester County:

• Dinners and outings for the residents of the local Veterans Administration Hospital.
• Food and school supplies for West Chester University students who are homeless. (Yes, there are homeless students attending college to improve their futures)
• Scholarships for deserving High School students.
• Competitions and rewards for younger students.
• Food and refreshment for Service workers (police, fire, EMT) who are working hardship shifts during the holidays.
• Food and financial support for organizations that help the disadvantaged.

100% of the monies are in kept within our community. The Elks make a difference to those that we serve.
